G+_Ebuka Daniel
Nexus 7 (2012) very laggy after update to 4.4. Okay, so I joked a bit earlier today about my nexus 7 getting the Kit Kat update. But now I'm not joking...my Nexus 7 is now super slow to respond to my touch. Anyone else? ? G+_T. J. Sexton
sigh I was hoping 4.4 would improve my OG Nexus 7's performance.... :-\
G+_Lucas Nichols
Have you tried anything yet? Like turning it off and back on a factory reset? I've got 3 of them and don't want then to get laggy either.
G+_Mike Flanagan
Dave Bach what build number do you have?
G+_Dan Delaney
Same here too, my wife's N7 is ridiculously slow. Was hoping it was being caused by SuperSU, but removing it hasn't helped.
G+_Dan Delaney
... And risk the wrath of my wife for losing her game progress? Dream on! (actually I've been meaning to reset this thing to clear some of my own stuff off it, now I have my own 2013 model)
G+_Dan Delaney
RJ McKenzie I could use Helium or Titanium Backup to save progress, it won't be that difficult. I just need to make sure I back up the stuff she actually wants and not keep rubbish on there she doesn't need.
G+_Toby Driscoll
I updated mine manually and it got loads faster. Of course that included a device wipe to unlock it.
G+_Rafael Valentín
My wife would not let me to update hers. She loves it the way it is.
G+_Tony Nolen
I haven't received the update yet. Based on the comments so far, I think I'll wait.
G+_Matt Turner
I got the Nexus 7 (2012) OTA & I can tell it runs a bit faster but maybe I should do a factory reset anyway just to see if there's a difference.
G+_Dan Delaney
Removed a few apps and ran fstrim, and happy to say things seem to be working much better with the newest OTA on the original N7. Wiped dalvik cache again after uninstalling the apps. It's now better than 4.3 and after sideloading the Google Launcher it's pretty slick.
