So my external sd card came in.  So what now?  Other than a place to keep ROMSs, radios, and kernels, what other clever uses are there?  I stream all music from the cloud and movies from Netflix.  I would like to force my camera's photos and videos to go to the external sd card but don't see a setting with the stock camera.  Thanks guys.

What phone do you have?  Google Play Music All Access took so much space on the limited 16 GB Core of my Samsung Galaxy Note that the phone had no more room to store pictures, so it auto-magically started storing pictures on the SD Card.

ProCapture (I have the Pro, don't know about the Free Version) enables selection of SD Card for save.  There may be other 3rd Party Apps with that enabled, too.

I seem to remember back on my Nexus One that the camera gave the option to store pictures on the SD Card.  Cards were slower then . . .

Google doesn't like the SD card.  What a shame!  It was a big advantage Android had over iOS.

There was something I read last week, but didn't pay much attention to since I don't have an S4, that an update "broke" save to SD.

That may have been the "Google Experience Model"  Yes.  It was the 4.3 update did the nasty.

This YouTube video shows how to save photos to the SD card on a "standard" S4 that hasn't been messed up by Google =
