G+_Marlon Thompson
Martijn de Graaf I was just writing a post on this so I will just respond instead 1. Whatsapp messenger is a must have for me because I have friends on Blackberry, iphone, Windows phone and even Nokia Symbian phones and this app is the only true cross platform messenger there is. http://bit.ly/VjCZZI 2. Tune in Radio (I upgraded to the pro version), I love this app because it is so much more than a simple radio app. I use it to listen to the local radio stations, Barclays English Premier League football, the Australian open and of course Twit when I am on the road. I don't think people realise how powerful this app is and its another great cross platform app that's available on Blackberry, windows phone, ios and even Samsung's bada's platform http://bit.ly/W01ERj 3. Cerebus Anti theft, I have to secure my phone and I have found this to be the most powerful http://bit.ly/WmDFs3 4. Evernote. Like Jason this is a must have for me again I love it because its cross platform and it is great for capturing everything. http://bit.ly/XxFylc 5. Feedly. I have been a feedly user since day one and it has come a looong way. I always liked it because when I originally got my first Android phone a few years ago we only had an Edge network (the horror) and Feedly was nice and light and gave me my feeds quick and easy. It is really great looking now and its Free!! I highly recommend it http://bit.ly/WfJnPI

G+_Akshay Sharma
I'm surprised that none of the hosts or people in this thread mentioned a File Manager (ES File Explorer) in their first five installs on a fresh device. It's a must for a new setup for me for moving over Whatsapp databases, Nova launcher backups and other config files.

G+_Ed Reilly
Limiting yourself to five top apps is tough. I left out Evernote and a great little time recording app called (brace yourself..) Time Recording. I need to keep track of the hours I spend on various projects, and this is a gem. I use it religiously--though only for a couple minutes a day to keep track of when I started and stopped working on a project--and then get a nice report of my activity for the week. It is very flexible.
