G+_Andreas Ebbert-Karroum
Chromecast vs. Googlecast I just wanted to clear up the discussion in one of the recent shows: it was discussed / noticed that Google started to call the Chromecast "Googlecast" during the keynote and throughout Google IO. I guess that is only partly correct. Both things exist, but both things are something different. Google Cast is the API that you talk to in order to make something pull content from the internet and display it, remotely controlled via the originating device. (https://developers.google.com/cast/) Chromecast is an actual device that accepts requests from devices made via the Googlecast API. That means that for example the Android TV receives content via the Googlecast API, but it's not a Chromecast. https://developers.google.com/cast
